Provender is thrilled to be hosting its first ever ‘Eat Local in Winter’ event highlighting the diversity of delectable Quebec products available throughout the coldest months of the year.
Two highly praised Montreal chefs will be presenting the menu for the event: Colin Perry of Dinette Triple Crown and John Winter Russell (formerly at Van Horne and the man behind collaborative pop-up events with chefs Jonathan Lapierre-Réhayem - Laloux, and Denis Vukmirovic and Étienne Huot - La Récolte, Espace Local).
Perry and Russell will combine their talents to present guests with local flavours and products, all sourced directly through the Provender marketplace.
Provender is a community of food passionate people brought together through an on-line marketplace that allows chefs, food entrepreneurs and artisans to order fresh products directly from local producers. By limiting the number of intermediaries between producer and final consumer, the direct relationships facilitated by Provender create greater transparency in the food system, while generating greater market access and autonomy for local producers offering a diversity of seasonal, fresh, high quality products.
This event is part of a series of public engagement events hosted and supported by Provender to promote greater public awareness and understanding of the origins of our food; promote the diversity and vibrancy our of local food systems; and to uphold the importance of empowering farmers by returning them to a place of primacy in our food system.
The 'Eat Local in Winter’ event takes place at Dinette Triple Crown on March 9th, 2015 starting at 7:30pm. Family style dinner with a variety of shared plates and long table seating offers guests the chance to chat, connect and share stories through food.
Stay tuned for more information on the menu, products and producers being highlighted at this event.
