About Community Food Centres Canada (CFCC)

CFCC provides resources and a proven approach to partner organizations across Canada creating Community Food Centres that bring people together to grow, cook, share and advocate for good food. CFCC also works with the broader food movement to build greater capacity for impact and to empower communities to work toward a healthy and fair food system.

CFCC envisions a Canada where everyone has the means and knowledge necessary to access good, healthy food in a dignified way paired with the ability and opportunity to be heard on the food issues that affect them. We envision a robust, diverse food economy that sustains farmers and the land paired with a social consensus that food is a key determinant of health and a public good.

Working with farmers, chefs, restaurateurs, home cooks, backyard gardeners, health professionals, market-goers, teachers and the media, as well as sponsors and funders, CFCC is proving that good food can build community, enhance physical and mental health, nurture the planet and be a transformative force in low-income communities.

More about Provender

Provender is a community of food passionate people brought together through an on-line marketplace developed by a team rooted in the local food movement. By limiting the number of intermediaries between the producer, buyer and final consumer, Provender is helping Toronto chefs discoversource and highlight a diversity of high quality, fresh, locally grown agricultural products. The direct connections fostered by Provender create greater transparency in the food system while generating greater market access and autonomy for local producers.
